Internet for HOPE Families

August 27, 2012

Internet Essentials will provide broadband Internet at $10 a month.  To qualify, families must have at least one child in grade k-12 who qualifies for free lunch under the federal program. The Internet program is not available to students eligible for reduced-cost lunches. Families can enroll in the Internet program through the 2013-14 school year and continue to participate so long as they have a student in the free-lunch program.

DCSD Staff Resource Trainings

The Douglas County School District Center for Professional Development offers Staff Resource Trainings.  Content areas include behavior management, autism, literacy, math, technology and team building. The Staff Resource Trainings are open to all HOPE and Learning Center staff and will begin September 10, 2012.

HOPE offers students a variety of activities in which they may participate throughout the year. HOPE Director of Activities and Operations Melanie Stone is eager to create new opportunities for students to engage in phyiscal and social activities which foster self-confidence, healthy habits and school spirit.
