Marisol, 4th Grade

HOPE at the Choice Academy in Pueblo is celebrating the progress that 4th grader Marisol has made since she started with them in 1st grade. Marisol came to Choice Academy behind both academically and socially. As a 1st grader, she didn’t know how to count or the alphabet.

Destiny, Graduating Senior

At 11 years old, Destiny found herself homeless. Her mom was a drug addict. Destiny got into some bad behaviors herself. She began a string of robberies, many times for a place to sleep. Sometimes she slept in cars. Destiny was eventually placed into the foster care system.

Kaylee, Graduating Senior

Kaylee came to HOPE part way through her 5th grade school year (she will now graduate in May). She had been homeschooled and was seeking an environment where she could gain more social skills and enhance her learning. This is when she found HOPE at Mountain View Academy.

Deja, Graduating Senior

Deja has been a student at HOPE's Brighton Leadership Academy since 3rd grade. Academics were never easy for Deja, but she worked hard and kept trying until she succeeded. She has appreciated the small class sizes and one-on-one attention she received at HOPE.
