Additional Nutrition Resources
Keeping students healthy helps them stay engaged in learning and school activities. Colorado law requires students to meet school immunization requirements unless an approved exemption is submitted.
Before a student’s first day, families must provide one of the following:
- An up-to-date immunization record
- An in-process immunization plan from a healthcare provider
- A Certificate of Medical or Nonmedical Exemption
Required vaccines help protect students from preventable illnesses such as measles, mumps, chickenpox, and whooping cough.
7th grade requirement:
Colorado requires one dose of the Tdap vaccine before entering 7th grade (unless already completed).
Families should provide updated immunization records each time their student receives additional vaccines.

State Testing: Preparing for Success
At HOPE Online Learning Academy Co-Op, we are committed to academic excellence and student growth. As a public charter school, HOPE follows Colorado’s state-mandated testing requirements, which help measure student progress and ensure they are meeting essential learning goals.
Why Does My Child Take State Assessments?
State assessments are one measure of student learning. Results can provide information about:
- How students are progressing toward Colorado Academic Standards
- Areas of academic strength and areas for continued growth
- Student achievement and growth over time
- How schools and districts are supporting student learning
- Instructional and programmatic decisions
State assessment results are not intended to represent the complete picture of a student's abilities or academic progress.

Requesting Accommodations
Accommodations for testing, including requesting a paper and pencil version of the test, are granted based on documented need as outlined and requested in a student's individualized plan (IEP, 504, MLDP) prior to testing and reviewed with parents/guardians during annual meetings about these plans.
If you have questions about state assessments, testing accommodations, or the assessment excusal process, please contact HOPE’s School Assessment Coordinator (SAC), Christyn Holmes (christyn.holmes@hopeonline.org)
