Graduation 2024 Important Information
Save the Date!
Graduation Ceremonies
Two graduation ceremonies will be held this year.
Ceremony participation eligibility: To participate in the ceremony, graduates must have completed all requirements for their assigned graduation pathway, including coursework & assessments on or before May 10th, 2024. Students who do not meet this deadline will NOT be able to walk in the ceremony but may be eligible to receive their diploma at a later date.
Graduates are strongly encouraged, but not required to attend the ceremony. Diplomas will be mailed to students who do not attend the ceremony the first week of June.
Ceremony Etiquette: We want the graduation experience to be the best possible experience for every student, so as not to distract from the ceremony, Graduates and escorts are expected to stay seated for the entire ceremony.
Diplomas: Diplomas will be distributed at the graduation ceremony. HOPE Online will print your official name of record according to the birth certificate that was supplied during enrollment. If you have had a legal name change, please bring a copy of the official document to your learning site for correction.
Announcements: HOPE Online will provide each graduate with ten announcements. Announcements include a formal name card, photos, and envelopes. We expect to have these available for distribution from your learning site by the second week in May. You can order additional announcements in increments of ten for $10.00. An order form was provided at Grad Day. Spanish announcements are also available, please let your learning site know if you need translated announcements.
Students who would prefer a name other than their legal name on the announcements should communicate their preferred name to their Learning Site Director/Ed Zone Manager.
Guests There is not a guest limit to attend the ceremony, however seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis.
Caps and Gowns: Caps and Gowns are provided by HOPE Online and will be distributed the second week in May, provided requirements have been met. Please make sure to check the fit as soon as you receive your gown. If there are any sizing issues, let your learning site know immediately. Please make sure to iron or steam the gown prior to the ceremony.
Decoration of Caps: Graduates may decorate their cap. Any decorations should be appropriate for the formal ceremony. They should be free from references to drugs, alcohol, gang affiliation or political statements. All cap decorations will be approved by learning site staff prior to Graduation Day. Caps not meeting expectations will be taken and an alternate cap provided.
Honor Cords: Gold honor cords are distributed to the top 20% of students based on GPA, attendance, and leadership. Students will be provided with cords at rehearsal. Honor students will present the pledge of allegiance. Other cords: Students are permitted to wear cords presented to them by a learning site, community organization, or military branch, provided those cords are not gold, black & silver, or maroon & silver.
Escorts: We know that this achievement milestone cannot be achieved without those who have supported you. We ask that each graduate select ONE adult who has supported them to escort them into the ceremony. Escorts should plan on arriving at 5:00 p.m. for the processional lineup.
Recommended Attire: Graduation is a formal ceremony and celebration. Professional or formal attire will be expected of graduates and escorts. Please note that the Denver area ceremony is an outdoor venue and guests should dress according to the expected conditions.
